At about 7:50 a.m., a seventh grader heard someone around the corner near the gym speaking in a high-pitched Mickey Mouse voice. She did not see the person.

A staff member says the padding inside the giant head has a strange smell. Someone would have to put the head on or look well inside to notice it. No one mentioned the smell while questioning students.
Tiny pieces of old red fabric are stuck to Benny’s backpack. Coach says Benny helped move equipment yesterday while the Trojan costume leaned against the cart.
At 8:20 a.m., a tablet is found on a bench near the gym. Its camera app is open. A recently deleted video thumbnail shows the bottom of the Trojan head, the gym wall, and bright green sneakers. This exhibit is a written description of the fictional thumbnail; it does not show a face or establish who operated the tablet.

At about 7:55 a.m., a custodian heard a heavy thunk followed by a scraping sound near the old equipment room across from the gym. He did not see who made it.
Asked where such a large costume might be hidden, Liam says, “Maybe somebody shoved it in the old equipment room across from the gym.” Students had not been told what the custodian heard.
Evelyn’s assembly checklist says “return closet key.” She explains that Coach lent it to her yesterday to check supplies. Coach confirms taking it back at 3:20 p.m. The closet was left unlocked overnight while equipment was being put away.
A note on Evelyn’s sign-making table reads “Trojan video — assembly?” Evelyn says the committee planned to show an old recording of the mascot. The librarian saw Evelyn working on that recording at 7:45 a.m.; the note does not identify who used the tablet this morning.
A drawing in Danny’s notebook shows the giant Trojan head inside the old equipment room. Danny says he drew it last week when old costumes were stored there. A dated class assignment on the back confirms the drawing is from last week.
